No qualifying coverage at all, straight into the race.

Well, qualifying for Race 22 is underway, only 1 20 minute session before the top 10. Why do they keep changing formats all over the place like this?

Someone should make a cap of the MotoGP/Road Safety advert and post it on here. I laughed the first time i saw it for some reason. Having super-imposed objects like phone boxes and a bus added into crashes is wierd yet effective.

Wow, that safety car could have caused a massive mess there.

Lol @ Skaifes analogy of Lowndes dumping Bargwanna and Slade spinning Murphy. They were almost exactly the same time of accident (overlap after corners), but you could hear the sarcasm in his voice when refering to the Bargwanna accident, especially when he said that 'that happens sometimes' then to take back that statement mere seconds later saying 'it's avoidable.'

As much as the saftey car incident was a joke which could have caused an accident, why was half the field boaring down the front straight so fast? Surely they would have seen the SC board and yellow flags out. Doesnt take away the stupidity of the saftey car just sitting there.

Quite a valid point that one, but i think the explanation the drivers would give if asked is that they would have expected the safety car to be down towards turn 2 by the time they got there, not sitting just beyond the crest on the front straight.

The safety car incident could have been a huge one, did you see the on board from one of the Jim Beam cars that showed them coming over the crest unsighted, jumping on the brakes and at least one car having to pull sideways in front of it to avoid the accident.

Not a good look for a prefessional series but I must admit I enjoyed the racing this weekend

Yeah that was pretty scary! Second near miss at the Island this year too.

I dont understand how it happened tbh, even without communication.

Everyone knew Whincup was the leader, and that the whole field had passed the safety car, so surely you would take some initiative and see the 88 behind you and go???

And why did it have to wait in the first place, shouldnt it just scramble straight away, wave the cars through till it gets the leader, safest thing to do..

But I did enjoy the racing overall, it was one of the better rounds this year.

Some theories are that the car stalled (for whatever reason), that's why the lights go out, and then come back on.

In relation to that theory, apparently the Safety Car is an Auto, so stalling may not be the reason. The lights may also have been turned off because they missed the leaders first time by, but surely they should have just picked up the first car that went past and flagged them by till they got back to Whincup (presuming he would have still been infront after his pitstop, in the case he hadn't, it would have been Tander)
