Only closed cockpits idea was abandoned long time ago. Supposedly Audi and maybe Acura were against it. I don't care about that, brings variety and all, but I would like to get rid off these single-seater noses and "single-seater with fenders" looks. I can't believe even manufacturers prefers this in the long run. This PDF quite clearly says "no fundamental changes to bodywork in 2011" - even though ACO guy was still talking about "wider cockpits and wider windshields" (in a way to get rid of these bubble cockpits) in the speedtv.com interview...

Wider cockpits would be uglier on the cars. Saw one impression on EI and it wasn't going to look better, it would look more like DP cars and that is the last thing you want... But indeed some noses seriously need some changes (908 IMO).

Wow that looks actually cool. Will they race it this weekend, or was it only here for some testing?

This? IF they're planning to make them wider (but looks like they're not...), then they probably would try to refrain from DP looks. It actually says so in that link. But it's old and obsolete info now so...

Here's something to laugh about.

The first VLN (the Nordschleife series) after the summer break had to be cancelled before it even begun...

Image

Smudo, member of the famous German Hip-Hop group "Die fantastischen Vier", was on a test run when his Biodiesel Ford Mustang had a leak in the tank and spilled out all fuel! The track workers had problems removing the stuff, even the pull trucks were slippering with handbrakes on...!
