Dave Sera will win it. Mark my words, even though he's a massive wanker and isn't even the best driver in the competition.

Bit harsh to call Denyer a hack tbh, he's a decent steerer and did pretty well in the Fujitsu series, not main game material but more than capable of performing pretty well at Bathurst. Though his time out of the car won't do him any favours.

Denyer needs to commit to one thing. Channel 7, or motorsport. He can't have it both ways.

If he was solely committed to racing he might be a good steerer, but as long as he does (no) talent shows and presents the weather, he should give it up.

Almost all other Fujitsu Series drivers have a day job as well as racing on the weekends, why should Denyer be treated any different just because his job is more 'high profile'?

Neil Crompton combined media and driving committments 'relatively' successfully.

Commercial-Free Races On 7

Fantastic news. Might be a small gesture to appease the fans, so hopefully it continues.

Only think that will make saturday interesting is if the track is half flooded.

They could start by showing the races LIVE across the whole nation and not time zone delayed, especially Bathurst

Ain't gonna happen :(

And who wants to bet that we'll be littered with ads before the two commercial-free races?

Didnt they throw a SC few years back because someone supposedly threw a holden or ford flag on the track?

They throw safety cars these days if someone drops a paper cup in the pitlane its gotten that pathetic.....

They decide to chose the most agonisingly boring (and shortest) races to chose as their ad free races

I consider that more of a slap in the face from Seven tbh. How about they do a proper race with no ads (at least during green flag racing)? Or Bathurst WITHOUT A FUCKING 40-50 MINUTE DELAY AT THE END OF IT.

The only reason these races are getting shown ad free is because they are so short.

7 are a commercial station, your never going to get a normal length race ad free, and it won't happen on 9 or 10 either. You must remember that 7 are showing more coverage of the series than ever before on any TV station in the history of the series (be it 7, 10 or ABC)

And how exactly does time delaying the Bathurst coverage affect you? It's only time delayed because they 'press pause' in the ads so we don't miss any action. They did the same thing on Channel 10. I suppose this year, when 7 are legally obligated to not time-shift, you will be complaining about what you miss in the ad breaks.

Since you're posting on a message board I'd have thought this would be pretty obvious to you - in this day and age the audience can and will be connected with sports live through message forums, facebook, texting etc. Running a telecast almost an hour behind is like asking the audience to ignore every other medium except the TV all day. It's tremendously stupid.

Is it not that hard to stay off the Internet for a couple of hours on a Sunday afternoon?

Your all on a hiding to nothing anyway, Tony Cochrane when interviewed on RPM two weeks back supported the races being delayed, saying that the closer to the News that the races were shown on TV the higher the ratings were. So if the boss backs it, i don't see it getting changed.

I prefer the races being shown delayed, the 4-6pm timeslot for Townsville was great. I was able to go and test my kart for most of the day, and make it home in time to watch the race.

the track (from pics and vids) isnt too bad but its far from v8sc standard tbh (compared to many of our permanent track's) not much in the way of facilities or safety

Whats hard about not turning your computer on for a few hours? Or don't connect to the Internet with your phone.... its not rocket science.....

If they say being closer to the news increases the ratings, why don't they just push the start of the race back? Cannot wait for the day when somebody loses the 1000 because of that stupid time limit. AVESCO trying to explain to someone "you were catching the leader at 4 seconds a lap but channel 7 had to cut to the news, sorry".

Bathurst has been time limited to a 5.45pm finish ever since 1997 when Channel 10 demanded it for their coverage of the rebel V8 1000 that year. The time limit is written into the supplementary regs, absolutly nothing to do with Channel 7 (but feel free to keep your vendetta against them going....)
