The drivers want those overseas races in America, Spa, the Ring or Macau...

Gotta love the poll on that page, especially the option of Talladega. V8's on an oval :8:

Murphy was fantastic. Hopefully one of these days he can start getting podiums. But Bright was great again well deserved.

HELL YES!

This weekend they will pair up in a BMW

The three join this year’s Indianapolis

Its a pity that drivers of that calibre are being wasted on the Gold Coast, and not brought out a few weeks earlier for Bathurst.....

You kidding? Even though it was a bit of a farce, it was one of the most entertaining weekend of V8s last year.

Certainly not kidding

The Gold Coast race is just a side show, and a poor relation of what was once a great international open-wheel event.

Why are we bringing international drivers over for a street circuit, and banning them from racing at our most famous circuit and in the only motor race that means anything to the Australian general public (drivers racing at the Gold Coast are not allowed to race in any other rounds)??? Bathurst is a world famous event, it has hosted a WTCC round in the past, yet the V8 organisers have rendered it basically a 'locals' only event (unless they sign a 'lesser' international not running the GC600)...

Don't forget that Sunday will be shown on 7Mate I think for everyone (I know it's on Mate here in Melbourne, have to be the first time in, well, ever, that that's the case, not counting qualifying at Abu Dhabi).

Oh and the Saturday race at QR has effectively been split in two with a 15 minute break in between. Although it does remind me of the early NASCAR Truck races with the halftime break, it's a stupid idea imo.

Pretty shoddy to be honest, it will be the first ATCC/V8SCS race not available to everyone (not everyone can get digital channels) since the 1992 ATCC round from Mallala (all the 7 equipment at that point was en route to Barcelona)

This type of format was the norm for the DTM in the early 90s, and was used at selected BTCC events as late as 1995, as well as in the Australian Super Touring Championship in 1994 (except in those series it was only a 10min gap between races)

I agree, not the best idea, considering the success of standardising the formats over the last few years... it'll also disadvantage people who bend their car in the first race.
