What a race, what a great finish, but a bad day to be a ford fan.

Bit lame, but did anyone else spot the fact that the Jesus Racing car retired at Hell corner? i lolled a very small amount.

I hadn't noticed that, but I did notice there seemed to be a more spiritual style to the music when they played the super slowmo of the Jesus car crashing on Friday. I also noticed in the closing credits today that it seemed to be accompanied by a devilish laugh as well.

Murphy/Skaife had them covered on refuelling at the final pitstop.... a podium for them was on

It was unfortunatly another safety-car 1000, as is the spirit of the race in the new millenium, the previous 950km are rendered worthless in the final sprint to the flag.

At least #2 won, it led the race all day and deserved to win.

I actually reckon it would have been a better finish for 2nd on back had Riccardello not bunkered the 16 at the Chase (which I don't think, that late in the race, should have been a SC). Pity that Bargwanna got turned by Whincup, I was hoping he'd get a podium, but it wasn't to be.

Oh, and finally....WOOT! 1-2-3-4-6-7-8-9-10 Holden!!

Yeah but last years race had much less safety car action and was 10000% shittier with only about 10 laps worth watching.

I have a huge fever and general sickness and should prob have got some sleep but even that didnt stop me enjoying this year's race!

This year's race punched that mountain in the face! :p

MotorsTV's race replay broadcast once again looks much better than the live broadcast.

But honestly, huge kudos to Motors for their coverage last night. Shame they don't have much live broadcasts left, but once they show something live, they do it right!

Yeah, the picture quality of the race recap is a beauty. Probably the best quality they had all year.

Which is weird because back in the Motors TV glory days their live pictures were great but if you had to watch a delayed or a replay the colours were washed out and horrible.

*Sigh*

Don't think it matters now, Motors TV's next live race is...what? Motocross? whoooo :o
Oh I think I saw that they're doing rallycross live again but I watched that on Bank Holiday Monday in August and it was so boring it wasn't worth it, half the cars broke down before they got to the line.

So the race isn't worth watching then, as Holden sucks!!!!!!!!

:yuk:

As for the picture quality, my LIVE coverage looks better than your screen shot.

Watched parts of the replay after watching the first hour live last night. Good racing, good coverage, enjoyed it. Was also nice to see the support races on MotorsTV

Agreed, minimal amount of adverts too.

I must say, though you've been complaining about picture quality, at my end it was perfectly reasonable during the live broadcast.

Yeah its a shame we didnt see some team win in a thriller by 2-3 laps like you would like with no safety cars :(

Seriously its a broken record, get over it already.

At least it would be a real result... what a farce had Holdsworth/Caruso won, they'd justabout lost a lap parked up at Sulman Park...safety cars saved their race

When commentators talk about "buying a ticket" to the final hour you see where it has all gone. The race is all about the finish now, not a 1000km endurance test

It must be remembered this was once a motor race, not a WWE Entertainment production. The end of the race was very entertaining, edge of the seat stuff, but hardly what an enduro is all about.

Seriously, if you are going to whinge about every race that has a Safety Car you must be a very very sad man.
Shut the fuck up.

Its pleasing to see there can be constructive conversation and debate to be had around here these days

It seems to be doable at other places when discussing the same topic, yet around here some have the opinion that if your opinion doesn't match there's, then it has no right to be said. That is the very sad part

The point of the safety car is to clear up any inherent dangers that are on the track. Apart from the first safety car and maybe the Coulthard one, they were all for legitimate reasons. Let's take the last one for example, could you imagine what would have happened when someone lost it and crashed into Canto's car if they didn't bring out the safety car?
