mclaren2008 is hardly wrong in this case, the crowds to motorsport in that region be it V8Supercars, MotoGP or F1 etc.. are quite poor

And GP2 Asia is not that popular, certainly nowhere near the level of the European Series

V8Supercars are going there to bank cheques, not to please the local fans, this link provides a glimpse that there is something bigger in play in the V8 world at the moment

Come on man what the fuck, that is fucking horrible.

Pot, kettle, black comes to mind. I remember when all you'd post was 'Kimi pits'

And I remember that was done to point out the hypocrisy in F1 fans bashing NASCAR race threads and posters in them for having posts with nothing 'useful.'

Is there not a rule around here, like there is on most other forums, about attacking the post, not the poster??

mclaren2008 has a different opinion to some of you, no reason to level that kind of stuff at a fellow forum member

We are all motorsport fans remember, that is the whole reason we join forums like this

Dont think GP2 Asia would be too interested in going to Surfers Paradise anyway.

Perhaps you should have a read of this thread, paying particular attention to the part labelled "personal attacks"

2) Yes. he has a different opinion to us. but that opinion produces some of the utter worst crap i/we have ever seen. its not just a small group of members who hate his opinion, but a fair majority of this forum. eddy doesn't have the guts to ban him.

Ban him for what? Not agreeing with the majority is hardly a reason to run someone out of town

To be honest posts like that are primary school stuff.

Has mclaren2008 attacked any other members on here? Or just posted his opinions and thats it?

Well when he posts shit like this:
About using the old Clipsal track, mclaren2008 wrote:
406,000 for the first race and the declining crowds thereafter. I think that if the Clipsal went back to the old track, the 520,000 attendance will be beaten.

On the same subject, mclaren2008 wrote:
I don't care about anything other than the Clipsal racing on the long, old track. If it isn't it will remain the "Crapsal" until the old track is used.

About Albert Park, mclaren2008 wrote:
That's because you can't overtake at Albert Park in the V8's.

...he deserves all abuse that's directed at him, because his posts are just full of shit.

Also, correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't he get banned for a week for some of the bullshit he posted?

In fairness if they did run the full GP circuit at Adelaide, last used for the 2000 ALMS race, the crowd would likely push the figure that attended the 1995 Australian Grand Prix there.

And the Albert Park track has always produced little passing for the V8s going right back to 1996, compared to other tracks on the calendar. Possibly the fact its a non-championship meeting does not help matters. There haven't been that many 'cracker' races there though, it is more of a flowing circuit, rather than 'stop/go' like Adelaide was.

If you don't like what the person posts, then just ignore it, no need for what has gone on on this page. We should be encouraging some lively debate, not petty name-calling

There is absolutely no reason to flame anyone, if you don't like the way someone posts there is a nifty ignore feature. Try using it once in a while.

Ok guys chill out now please.. I'm at work without the time or inclination to get involved with any petty school yard quarrels.
No one is going to get banned or warned but I will say that from this point forward, if there's any more shit like this I will look at decreasing the membership by one or two...

So that's the last word on the subject...

It's off topic, but does Australia count as the "asia" part?

From just an occasional visitor point of view, I can safely say scotty's constant arsey whining shits me far more than anything mclaren's posted.

Fuck! If he didn't turn to the left he would of crashed into Cam, and that would of been a scary crash. :8:

At least it ended safely for it to become a KFC Zinger Hot Replay in the future.
