Well next week it's time for my favourite race again, still needs a topic on here :)

A lot will be streamed on http://www.gt1live.tv.
Image

MotorsTV will not broadcast anything live AFAIK although they now have the FIA-GT rights (no surprise really, they're probably be airing a much more important replay of a 2007 motorcross race)
There are other channels which are broadcasting quite a lot though => Provisional, incomplete TV schedule
(For the Belgians who have Telenet Digital TV, EXQI Sport will broadcast very much)

More info, including timing (CET)

Luc Alphand Aventures withdrew their Corvette (which had factory driver Beretta in it) because of several reasons, official one is that they want to concentrate on the LMS race the week after. Have fun racing 2 other cars in that GT1 class, lol.
Also yesterday came the news KplusK Motorsport withdrew their very quick Saleen S7-R with Wendlinger/Sharp on it, because they have suddenly realized a 24 hour race is pretty expensive. Seems like the drivers came "falling out of the sky" as well because Wendlinger reacted absolutely surprised and devastated.
Too bad because now there are only 9 GT1's left (with the Nissan and Ford being slower "2010" GT1's).

The rest of the grid looks pretty good though, especially GT2 announces itself to be an amazing battle between about every single car in it. Also keep an eye on that Audi R8 entered in G2, it's going to run in the new GT1 spec so it's gonna go really quick.

I know not a lot of people are interested but what the hell ;)
Didn't want the race to remain unnoticed (apart from a few posts in the FIA-GT thread)

At least we get to see some highlights shown on DSF on the 26th at 21.00. Last year they broadcasted live :(

I'm going myself on thursday.

The sad thing about the 24H is that is hardly any coverage, last year we had to do it with a few highlights from Club RTL :(

Hopefully this year we'll have more luck with EXQI :)

More on KplusK withdrawing:

Quote:
The KplusK Motorsport Saleen S7R has withdrawn from this weekend’s Spa 24 Hours.

The GT1 squad has cited the revised Spa points system and their concerns about sourcing spare parts for the remainder of the season as its reasons for withdrawing from the race.

The new-for-2008 points system will award the regular number of points at the end of the race, instead of the staggered system which awarded points during different stages of the race. ‘It is evident that the cost of any points gained compared to other races is completely out of proportion,’ read the team’s statement.

The statement also said that the team was concerned that the car would need ‘a full revision’ after the 24-hour race and as ‘most of the parts of the car, including the engine, have to come from the United States. This will take some time and could be impossible for following round at the Hungaroring.

Why scrap the 6, 12, 24 points system? Thats pathetic!!

Plus MotorsTV can't show the race LIVE, as they are doing the Silverstone Classic LIVE

Well the teams themselves asked to scrap it, so they should be blaming themselves as well

Good that MotorsTV has a fine reason not to show anything live.

Maybe a stupid question. But when I go there on saterday, the race will start on 16.00. But till what time you can stay on the track and watch the race?

General admission at the gate is 25€ according to the spa 24h website, if you buy in advance at a total gas station it's 15€.

If the weather is good I'll go on saturday (and if I'm not too beaten up from a paintball game on friday), you can stay at the track the whole race offcourse, But I think I'll go home at midnight.

That's cool! Thanks! Are the support races worth to watch? I've never seen them. But maybe I can go later on the day so I can watch the race longer:) It will be great, I'm sure about that! Really looking forward to it

The GT4s and F3s are both great but the Formula Academy and Lambo Super Trofeo arent that good...

That must've been one of the worst rainstorms I've ever seen, during qualifying. Absolutely crazy.

This was at about 8PM, it's not fog or anything but actual rain. Continued like that for at least 30 minutes, and at about 11PM it started again at the same strength. Absolute madness.

They had the new calendar for 2010 up in the hospitality unit (which also had the new Lambo under wraps). It isn't really what I would call a WORLD championship. They start off as we knew before at San Luis. Then they move over to Australia. After that its pretty much the usual European stuff (UK, Belgium) and at the end of the year they will go to South Africa and Arab Emirates.
