Favorite event of the year coming right up!
http://adac.24h-rennen.de/en

Here is the starting list

I hope someone other than Manthey win, but I really doubt that.

Word on a stream this year?

Will be there

Again working for Live-Strip.com-Racing, and I will get an accreditation  So I can stand next to the guardrail to take photos

And for sure, I will post the pictures here in the forum.

I would not bet Manthey to win the race, there are many other strong cars which are able to win, like the Audi R8's, the Land Porsche and the Alpina B6.

Why do they always held this event when some of the most historic races are driven? They've held it at the same weekend as the Le Mans 24 hours a few times and now on the same weekend as the monaco GP and Indy 500, that's just stupid.

Why is that stupid? Indy 500 and Monaco F1 race are not in germany. If there would be another big event in Germany like DTM or something else, then it would be stupid.

Hopefully Team Kiwi Nurburgring does well, they usually win their class, they have two Honda Civics and an Audi A4 this year.

I'm sure Audi will do better with a works R8 (last year's R8 lasted something like 8 laps yeah?)

I'll be hoping for a good overall from the teams I usually root for
Kissling Motorsport - Opel Asta (121)
All VW Scirocco teams

Sadly when looking through the cars I did not see the Rover mini, or the Suzuki Swift :( Those were my two favorites.

The R8 last year did not started in the race, in the second qualifying I saw it once on the nordschleife.

The small classes (where the Mini and the Suzuki started) aren't allowed to start this year :yuk:

Because it is to dangerous for the drivers. Last year the Zakspeed Viper nearly crashed into the Mini because it was so slow.

Well that defeats one of the main reasons I watch this :(

It's just turning into another event. Hell, I'd rather watch Spa more now.

That's just stupid, it's the fault of the Viper driver for not taking care around slower traffic. That's one of the biggest challenges during the race and it keeps the drivers on their toes.

I guess they are just like almost everyone else, just caring about the teams that bring in the big money. :(

Sure I get safety had "something" to do with it, but other years it's been fine. I'm amazed I only heard of this now, I would think the fans would be up in arms over this, seeing how much of the fan fare are for the small private teams.

The problem is that the organizer needs one of the two public holidays (Corpus Christi or Ascension Day) that are on Thursday to allow the thousands of involved voluntary people (marshalls, mechanics, freelance media, ticket controllers) to attend the meeting without having to take more than a day off work

I'll be there for the Corso on Wednesday and Thursday practice, dunno about the race yet as I have my final league match as well. Might skip it though, the entry is great.
Wednesday is great fun, though I've heard there are big restrictions for the Corso. Have no idea who it is like, my last Nurby 24 was in 2005... Back then it was a great party on the track, but it seems things went over the top
Schusti, do you know more about? Heard Live-Strip-Racing.com sends it's girls on a campsite tour instead of taking the Corso? No people allowed on the track or what?

Well, it's not Le Mans where you're doing 340 and come up behind a GT2 car doing 280, it's more like doing 320 and closing up on a car hardly breaking the 200 barrier and with that much traffic it's just too much. Not only the Top20 slice through the traffic, but the midfielders as well.
And especially on the smallest cars you have very inexperienced drivers.
You can rely on nearly everybody at Le Mans (minus two or three pay-drivers), but you have a few dozen bloody amateurs who struggle to find the racing line at night, they even don't think about mirrors then...

The drivers are racing at the Nurburging. They should know the danger. If someone can even do about 9 hours during the race without having an off, I wouldy hardly call them amateurs.

It's How ironic is that people complain about gentlemen racers fading away, but feel this is fine? This kills what made this race so great tbh.
