A huge collection of old DTM cars will be present at the Nurburgring on Friday, May 1st (public holiday) and May 2nd. On friday the owners have the possibility to drive their former DTM and ETCC cars on the Nurburgring GP circuit. On May 2nd the cars will have a 3 lap demo run on the Nordschleife to pay tribute to the glorious DTM battles around the Ring. The demorun will take place at 10am between VLN-Cup qualifying and race.

Personally I'd prefer friday as (sounds strange) the GP circuit offers better photographer locations due to stupid catchfencing around the Norschleife and you have more track time. You should go to either Mercedes grandstand or the paddock grandstand at the Veedol chicane for maximum air intake sound Nordschleife offers few photographer windows, there are only two of them at the exit of Brünnchen, which means "enough" room for approx. 7 snappers. Never the less the 3 laps are 75% of a DTM race from that time and you have 1,5h VLN qualifying plus a 4 hour race Qualifying on saturday starts at 0805 instead of 0830!!!
Drivers present 100% sure Armin Hahne, Altfried Heger, Volker Strycek (also competing in VLN) Peter Oberndorfer, Jörg van Ommen, Harald "Nippel" Grohs, Frank Biela and probably many more DTM stars of the past
