I am looking forward to the season but I do feel the Championship needs more depth in Manufacturers.

Wasn't it here where Seats held the first 7 places in the race?

That was in Mexico, race 2. Seat's covered the entire top 6. In race 1 they covered the entire top 7, save for Larini's Chevy in third.

Was it two years ago that BMW dominated here and Seat threatened to pull out?

I believe so then the FIA tweaked some rules and Seat ruled since then!

Wow, the poor Brazillian fans, only one supporting series and the races a few hours apart! 8O

It's also interesting this race will probably directly clash with the NASCAR race in Atlanta (though with the amount of laps you get in a WTCC race it'll probably be over inside one NASCAR yellow flag period... :p )
I wonder which will be more exciting? :p

Part of the reason SEAT pulled out of BTCC was that Gow would change the rules to let SEAT dominate like they did in WTCC. SEAT should have just made a better car and used one more suitable for touring car racing.

Are they racing this weekend? Didn't they have a half-decent driver in for one of the rounds (Okayama?), think he was close to the top 10 at one point. Guess they'll struggle this round as all the weights are equal, they should get a bit closer as the others start to get success ballast.

Yes, at the end of lap one you can always get excited hearing Martin Haven scream "Van Lagen is leading the independents from nowhere on the grid in a Lada!!!!!!!!" (when he's actually 4th or so)

I'm liking the Lada colourscheme if I'm honest. Not too many red cars around what with the lack of Alfa and Honda in most series. Plus Van Lagen is a pretty good driver - might grab a point here and there.

Anyway, gives the rest of us something to look at while Seat moan their way to the titles again. :p

Are there any streams for qualifying and the race?

In all honesty it looks like all sorts of 80s and 90s saloons bodged together. I'm still a fan though cos I think the modern style almost all manufacturers go for is hideous. ;)
