Yes you right Mattzel, but DTM has a solid Reglement you know. Many Parts of the cars a simplified and I think it would be easy for BMW to build a car. So what is the point that BMW is not interestet in DTM - I can't understand it :? Maybe because DTM is just a national championship ... I think it has a higher status than wtcc with its tiny little cute cars

Well, Super Mario (Dr. Theissen) said once that BMW is already occupied with all their motorsport commitment (F1, WTCC, Formula BMW, ALMS soon, what else?). DTM portrays themselves as Europe's most popular touring car series - I'm not sure about that!

Remember the nigh qualifying? How awesome was that? And since then, nothing has come out of it. When they tried Oval Turn 1 at the Eurospeedway, back then they had tyre problem, but that's almost 6 years ago. They could if they wanted...

They could do so many things right; yet they do so many things wrong - I don't even wanna count them all!

And with the current economic crisis, manufacture centred racing series like the DTM will suffer, let alone a third manufacture entering the series...!

Why would BMW lower themselves to go to the DTM?

Because BMW is a german brand - they should compete in DTM against Audi and Mercedes! That's the main championship here in Germany - The Winner get a huge amount of media attention!

Yeah It gets huge media attention in Germany and yes it is a German manufacturer. But they wanna profile themselves as an international brand an not only looking at the German market...

Although BMW would be (Our Alfa) the manufacturer that could bring it back to life somehow.

Hey guys, just watched a DTM qualifying race from Norisring 1991 - a qualifying race!!! - a race on saturday because of to many competitors :eyecrazy: Now I have an Idea, just lets make a list with things you want to change in current DTM! Here are my suggestions:

1. a race on nordschleife
2. maybe a night qualifying or even a night race
3. more races (just 10 this season :yuk: )
4. two races - maybe a sprint on saturday (cant get enough)
5. don't use brands hatch indy course!!!
6. ITR have to set rules to standardise as many parts as possible to reduce cost. This maybe will attract private teams (car tuning companies such as Alpina - there are many of them!) to join.
7. 6 cylinder engines because of this brutal touringcar sound!!!

I think this would be awasone or what du you think?

The two race format was certainly better.

Nordschleife is a bit too much asked, but the other points are surely interesting.

I actually wanted to visit F1 @ Nürburgring and F3ES @ Hockenheim this year. But now I got an offer which made me wonder where to go. It's a 4 day trip to Dijon (including a sightseeing tour) with gold tickets, hotel, an Audi fan package, Pit Walk, a guided tour through the Audi pit as well as a VIP entrance to the DTM grid for 330,- which is imo not really much for that. So, would you book the trip and drop F1 instead or F3ES @ Hockenheim instead? I'm not really interested in DTM but being @ the grid would be definitely fun :D

Last news I heard was that it is actually going to be rebuild (with the new track extension), but that was some months ago.

I'm sure they were recently given planning permission to rebuild A1 Ring.

Fuck Diepholz, that track sucked.

DTM should race on the 4.8 km long AVUS Image

Would be so cool if DTM would race on the Lausitzring oval.

Nice idea, but after the big problems in 2003 (i think) they will not do it. But would be a great thing :D
