I like this track alot, but I can`t see any grandstand :? How many spectators come to dijon per race - does somebody know?

Well the most popular series which was run before the DTM meeting was the Super Series FFSA and there was only 1 grandstand (main straight).

I went to Dijon-Prenois last year, here are some footages from all the aeras you could access as a spectator (you can't access T1 and the complete last sector)

-> Download the video (13.5 MB ~ 1 min 24 sec)

They need to built more grandstands !

Interesting video, thanks for this  In fact i really don't like grandstands so much - I just asked because it will be hard for DTM to sell much tickets if there are not many spectators. And then ITR say next year "no spactators, no race", this would be poor :yuk:

In my opinion DTM isn't ruined! Don't always regret the old days. I know it was alot more spectacular, but lets see what future is bringing

Not DTM at least. He wasn't at the AUDI training days, the only possibility to see him race is probably in the new LMES team from Kolles.

I think he meant the (good) old DTM!

My gripe with the current DTM is, as I already mentioned it a thousand times, that the potential is wasted by a bunch of idiots and professsional liars running the series. And I dare to say that DTM more or less stalled for years, I can't remember the last few seasons anything but exciting!

hey guys,
i think the greatest problem is, that today racing is to expensive, so that many teams, cannot survive, same as in f1 its in DTM. They are so little number of competitors, that it normal, that isn't as spectecular as it former was. I think it would need more different teams, like Opel or VW or even skoda, then their would be more competition and less politics, if you look at disaster in last years, like driving with 6 cars only.
greetings

I never quite believed that DTM racing is any way cheap despite their claims and the freezing of a few tech specs.
We all agree that the series needs more manufactures. Problem is, especially now, of course the financial aspect. GM pulled the plug on Opel already in 2005 because of that and MG Rover already missed the 2005 season opener and went bust shortly after that. The never-ending rumor of Alfa Romeo entering is becoming an urban myth and Citroen, I don't know. BMW doesn't want to enter because they say, they're already busy with F1, WTCC, FBMW, Nordschleife 24h and now ALMS. Volkswagen would be stupid to let their own brands (VW, Seat, Skoda, Audi) race against each other!

You see, it's not that simple!

Well, a pure PR-decision again! But if we would went with performance alone, we'd had to fire a whole lot more of drivers (especially ex-F1). And if he happen to get a fresh 2009 car the joke is complete!

WTF 8O

Does that mean that Gary Paffett will be put in a old car again? Because that would have been one of the worst decision ever in terms of results, in terms of publicity it is pretty good for DTM though as there aren't much known names anymore like Hakkinen and Alesi (Our are they going to yield 5 new cars? Spengler, Di Resta, Green, Schumacher and Paffett).

That's bullshit, Ralf hasn't done anything to deserve an '09 car over Paffett.

Ralf's been all surname and no talent.
