Yes, it's back. The stock car series for F1 veterans and unknowns alike. And top of the list of drivers new to the championship this year could be Alessandro Nannini, who tested this week at Dubai and has admitted he may race. Another tester this week is that old Canadian fellow out of Thunderbirds Paul Tracy, who clocked in 8th out of 20. Other testers include last year's contenders Johnny Herbert, the reigning champion, Jean Alesi and Uwe Alzen, along with F1 legends Gianni Morbidelli, Heinz-Harald Frentzen, Sakon Yamamoto, Alex Yoong and Vitantonio Liuzzi, sports car racers Fabrizio Gollin and Chris Buncombe, and Australian Christian Jones

A born and bred racing driver if ever there was one or am I just being a pain?

See, I can joke in two languages.

This series continues to strike me as utterly pointless.

Yeah, I'll watch the first weekend in hopes that it may be better, but if it isn't no loss here.

I guess it was the second idea for withered Grand Prix drivers to have the opportunity to have senile dementia-related accidents - only this time they let the young guys in too.

Still a real waste of time, even though Johnny Herbert won it last time out.

I thought the racing last year was pretty good at times, liked how much body roll the cars had through the corners. It's a shame they don't race at better tracks, the Dubai and Bahrain autodromes aren't great tracks for the cars, hopefully if the series becomes more successful they'll start to visit better tracks.

was fun to see the races last year, shame that Eurosport's not going to show anything this season. Was always good to have some racing during the off-season.

See, if someone could put on a champions tour without having these alterior motives, it might work, but I don't see this series going far.

And a Speedcar at that. They only look like their doing 5mph when they're on track.

A dragster would look like its doing 5mph at Dubai. Speedcars are pretty fast.

From the video at Speedcarseries.com it appears as if Truls got spun off, but then entered back on infront of an oncoming car, and the low profile nose just launched the car up and over.
