I've only been dipping in and out but it's looked a lot calmer since the crash. Hardly surprising, you'd have to assume driving repeatedly through what looked like a warzone would spook you a little

True, but also I'm not sure about that after all we had back in 2014. It is just matter of luck, especially after SC restarts. There was a lot of traffic after SC restart today already

That exact spot is going to be rebuilt this winter anyways. The barrier he hit will be moved back at least 10 meters, so hopefully this will be the last of this kind of accident

Gravel time? Or not yet? I remember that they wanted to bring back gravel there for bike racing

They've had 2 years to do something and NOTHING was done. Too little too late.

Apparently the investigations into the previous accidents didn’t conclude the spot to be too dangerous as a Grade 1 track. Personally I’d like to see some changes there, but ultimately the only reason they’re changing it is in order to make it safer for bikes so they can organise a bike 24H event. In this case it mostly came down to getting together the budget to make the changes, as they had to acquire the land and buildings next to the tracks premises to be able to move everything back to create more run off. Total renovation cost is 80 million, so expect a lot of changes for next year

Also, another angle of that crash. This could’ve been a whole lot worse, good to see all the drivers came out of that relatively okay

Big crash for 22 at the top of Raidillon, he's stationary in the middle of the track...

Positive update on Jack Aitken - he has "a broken collarbone, a fractured vertebra (which is stable), and a very small lung contusion". Looking forward to getting back to racing
