And are they 100% electric? Single make or several makes?

All-electric, Teslas only (at least for the first season).

I'm very interested to see how this pans out. The Model S is a big, heavy car. There is a reason why you only ever see these destroying cars in a straight line!

That said, the range should actually be much better than what Formula E can manage.

Does Musk have anything to do with this or is it just an organiser who has bought 20 Model S's and decided to create a series with them?

No Musk involvement, just a rich philanthropist who's a Tesla fanboy. https://evannex.com/blogs/news/11320730 ... runk-ep-59

Everytime I read "Tesla", I think of that Commander & Conquer Red Alert turret

Everytime I see Tesla I pitty the people who think it is related to the Tesla, and there are a lot of people wondering about under the impression the company is someway tied to the scientist and Mr Musk has somehow obtained Tesla's lost designs.

In fairness, Musk did donate over a million $ to the Tesla Science Center at Wardenclyffe and promised to install a Supercharger there, which obviously guarantees a steady trickle of traffic.

Wait, do people really think that??

Some people I've come across think that (there was a Tesla parked in the car park at a theme park last year, naturally I parked next to it cos I wanted a good look at it, but you should have heard some of the comments from other people).

Well that's promising - it certainly doesn't corner like a road-going Model S

sorry for the bit off topic post, but i live in Fremont, California. (Where Tesla cars are manufactured) The bicycle shop i manage provides all the bicycles and tricycles that they use at their factory. We provide a discount for all Tesla employees, so we get quite a few of them coming in. I'm shocked at how many people in the area have no clue what the Tesla name means beyond the fact that its a car factory on one end of the city. One time I(being in friendly, customer service mode at work) had a conversation with an employee from there and mentioned the name Nikola Tesla. I dont remember their exact wording now but their reply was along the lines of, "Oh ya, thats the guy who owns it, right?" Because this is america and he knows how to work on a computer rather than a bike, he literally make 8 times the amount I make each year. I'll trade you ignorant people around me any day haha

I know thats an oddly specific story but i swear its true lol. heres just the first wave of bikes they bought from us back in mid 2014

You've no idea how many people say that.

I've always wanted to build a Tesla Coil just to fuck with people, Gear Best do a kit but that's no fun.

Back OT, hope these race better than Formula E.
