I'll be ensuring that's policed. Though you might have to put up with me playing inane sound effects and gratuitous one liners in the background while I'm assaulted by a dog.

Long story.

They had Helmet Cam at Sandown this year, it still needs work.

Which is laughable, as Channel 7 had it perfected in 1991.... 18 years later and they are back to square one....

Well they say, the only smile wider than the winners face on the weekend is the guy who runs the Bathurst bottle shop.

It is seriously a cataclysm of alcohol up there. Spesh on top of the hill. Anyone who's been up there (or been stupid enough to stay up there) knows how insane it is.

Its not hard to smuggle in extra drinks, they don't do strip searches or pull apart cars...

The top of the mountain isn't how it once was anymore due to V8SA taking control of the whole event and dumbing everything down (camping was effectively free & easy until the 'split' in 1997 for starters), the top of the mountain i never thought of as "bad", just the way it was and was a part of Bathurst folklore.

The old Easter bike meetings made the worst of the 1000 'mob' seem like preachers.

I hope they don't check how many beers you drink or bring with you.
I wonder why Le Mans works so wonderfully without police or security taking away personal freedom. Our neighbours on Houx Annexe last year were a group of 10 (approx.) and build a beer mountain more than 2m high and veeeery wide

All very friendly

Regarding the camera on the rear wing of the Kelly car, what a disappointment it was, you can't see much at all.

Compare that with this clip from the 1992 race

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v5gPpeu7_XQ

At around the 1:00m mark they cut to the camera mounted on the rear wing end of the HRT Commodore, however it is mounted in a slightly different spot and provides much better vision

I don't agree with you on a lot of things, but I agree with you on this statement - I had a feeling earlier in the week that it wouldn't be a great camera, and after seeing it today, my opinion stands.

Touring Car Masters will be live on MotorsTV.

At which time GMT+1 does the race exactly starts? I know MotorsTV starts broadcasting at 2100, but at 2245 Indycar starts which I'd like to record as someone will probably upload the MPEG files to RU. So I hope the TCM race will be shown before Indycar starts :P

0835 is the scheduled race start time AEDT (+11GMT), so assuming it is live I think that works out to a 2235 start. So Motors is taking the full broadcast from 0700 AEDT (2100 GMT+1) to 1800 AEDT (0800 GMT+1)??

According to Motors TV's press release they come on air for the Warm up and stay until the end of the 1000

I hope that has time to fit a ute race inbetween warm up and 1000 start too

Yeah it is Fujitsu Series (V8 Lights) then V8 Utes and then the top 10 shoot-out.

I just put $10 on Holdsworth and Caruso to win at $19, i like those odds.

How long from now does that start?

How long ago did David Reynolds crash?

Just trying to work out if the stream I'm watching is live or a recording.

By the way, Winterbottom should be ashamed of himself, what an idiotic move.

Agreed. He went over the hill on Mountain Straight, and couldn't see if anyone was coming behind him, so he shouldn't have weaved back and forth.
