Can't believe how long it took them to realise that Whincup had completely jumped everyone in the stops. Anyway, the guy is untouchable, just lightning quick everywhere. |

What's the story about Whincup turning down $1m contracts with Le Mans teams? |

Im fairly sure Le Mans teams don't have $1m to pay drivers, so without evidence thats a load of shit Well he did knock back two offers to race at Le Mans, but the article on the Herald Sun website mentions that he could be offered $1 million to leave TeamVodafone, not being offered $1 million by Le Mans teams. So, that's another discraceful post right there, something he seems to have a history of doing... |

Probably the only Sportscar teams that could afford to pay a driver $1 million are Audi and Peugeot, and neither offer a full year program of races, so a $1 million offer for 2 or 3 races (Sebring [and another race for Peugeot] to prepare for Le Mans is all both teams have committed to this year) Most Audi Le Mans drivers pull double duty and race in the DTM.. perhaps that is an overseas option for next year? But as the guys above have said, the only reference to $1 million so far is that that is the price his manager is pushing for.... i find it unlikely he'll get that here in Australia. |

I just find it amazing of how good Whincup has become. I wouldn't mind if he completely dominates this season, even though my favorite driver is Craig Lowndes. Is it 17 of the last 20 races that Whincup has won now? |

Winton: (Q2) 1st, 4th, 2nd Phillip Island: (Q1) 2nd (did win his qualifying race as well but isn't a race win) Bathurst: (Q5) 1st Surfers Paradise: (Q1) 1st, 1st, 1st Bahrain: (Q1) 1st, 1st, 1st Symmons Plains: (Q2) 2nd, 1st, 1st Oran Park: (Q3) 1st, DNF, 23rd Adelaide: (Q1) 1st, 1st Hamilton: (Q1) 1st, (Q4) 1st Of last 21 races, 15 wins. |

That is just crazy, and if you discount Winton and PI, 14 wins, in 17 races |

You could also list his weekend results based on points. Winton: =1st(2nd for round. Top 3 for round equal on points) Phillip Island: 1st (Qualifying race results gave him more points than 500 winners) Bathurst: 1st Surfers Paradise: 1st Bahrain: 1st Symmons Plains: 1st Oran Park: 13th Adelaide: 1st Hamilton: 1st So aside from Oran Park when he screwed about after having won the championship, he hasn't been outscored by any driver at 8 of the last 9 race weekends.. |
