I think they've pulled the group down so it may well be in the hands of the police now.

I now believe that this is the case.

Needs locking up and a ban from driving. Not even his car, and the passenger is yelling at him not to do it. No respect for anyone. Watching it has actually made me pretty angry!

Me too, words cannot describe how angry it made me watching that, I really hope even if there's nothing the police will do, Palmer himself takes out a private prosecution.

And then this idiot goes and brags about it on Facebook - utter c*nt.

I wanted to but the guys from MSA and BRSCC were pretty keen not to let me get too close to him... then one driver (who shal remain annon)
started to climb the gate and announce that he was going to kill him!

We have enough evidence and it will be passed to The MSA, BRSCC and DR Palmer and they shall take him to task..

What about the police directly? Might have been private property but portions of the RTA still apply.

If I know anything from my time on the other side of the fence, the MSA and BRSCC are never too keen to highlight their own failings, so don't expect them to do much, Palmer is the landowner ;)

Blame should be placed both ways, honestly. Most on the driver of the Golf, the other on the circuit owner for being lax enough on security to allow something like this to even happen.

In fairness, I've been to funcup at Brands a couple of times before (as have a number of us on here) and part of the attraction of it is the freedom to move around the pits and paddock. Most of the people at a funcup meeting know someone involved so it's all very good-natured, people respect the boundaries and I think the circuit owners have been fine with it because of this. Security is MUCH tighter at the bigger meetings eg. BTCC. Unfortunately I can see that level of freedom being taken away now...

That's why i said yesterday not to expect the brscc or msa to do anything, because they'd have to admit their own lax and incompetent systems that have been the same since the 80's.

I went down to Brands the other week on a test day and not one person challenged me or my 10 year old son over what we were doing, and we drove around the paddock and pits for quiet a while, OK jus a test day, but that's not the point, t was a live track and we should not have been driving round the f1 paddock period.

Yup, let's hope they don't portray the clown as a hero though.

No doubt they will and he'll enjoy his 15 minutes of fame, then someone will want to do a copycat stunt and kill someone in the process, all in, the people loosing out most, will be the respectable, mostly law abiding racing folk, that don't deserve it.

I would be surprised if the particular paper in question portays him as anything other than a folk hero, the worse thing is once it's into print, the authorities will be reluctant to do anything since he will easily be able to argue against getting a fair hearing, thanks to the coverage given.

Someone really needs to take the paper aside and tell them do not run the article because it may spawn copycats that may not be so lucky, he's done the car bombing a race, what next? Someone jump out there on a skateboard? That's gonna end well.

Yeaa, that's all we need. Especially after what happened on the Jim Clark Rally and the headline the Irish Daily Fail ran about it.

People are trying to contact this paper to tell them not to, but unfortunately we all know how shitty that paper is.

I doubt the paper in question will pay attention to anything that isn't a large cheque.

Interesting that the article reckons it was a PR stunt. Doesn't seem like that to me tbh
