On a german site they talked about 4 other drivers who were brought into the medical center.

Apart from Mamé 4 drivers were brought to the medical center, of which one (Andrea Solime) was immediately sent to the local hospital because he had lost consciousness. His life is not in danger anymore, luckily.

what the hell did they hit, some kind of opening? That looks monumental :/

The whole front end of one of the cars looks completely ripped off, just like in that horrible crash at Brno from some years ago. Maybe those cars suffer from some kind of structural weakness? I've never seen a GT3 Gallardo damaged so badly, for example.

You know I have been thinking about your comment and I seem to recall a couple of other serious wrecks involving the Gallardo in other series... I seem to recall a Dutch driver either being killed or seriously burned in an accident about two years ago.. I am trying to remember what track it was at.. I think there is a youtube video of it. I will try to find it..

Anyway you might be right about a weakness at some angles or speeds..

But at any rate when a driver losses their life it is a tragic event and my heart goes out to there family & Friends.

FIA-GT Race at Zandvoort has been stopped.

An Audi lost it big time at T1, hit the inside wall. A photographer was here and got hit... Hope he is ok.

He hit his head on the armco when he fell.
