According to "motorsport-total.com", there will be no success ballast rules for the DTM in 2012. But if a car of the three makes will be significantly slower than the others, there could be a fast return of this rules even within the season. Moreover, there is a discussion between the manufacturers if a new homologation should be possible if a car is to slow. This would happen if a car of one make cannot reach a sixth place or better in the first four races.

in short, drivers think overtaking is going to be even more difficuilt this year.
So after all these years they finally have a new manufacturer and introduce cars which are supposed to improve the on-track action, and this is the result?
