Fucking sensationalist press. I was (and still am) so pissed yesterday. Usually you don't hear a single word about Belcar or BTCS on television, never, ever (24 hrs Zolder maybe sometimes) and now they sent two TV-crews to the spot immediately. Colleagues immediately got various calls from newspapers and news-agencies mentioning "you were there right? so you must have some great pictures of the injured people?".

The fact they showed that video on the news was the last straw for me. Why the hell did they have to do that? One of them is still critical, if he succumbs they've just showed somebody being killed.

It annoys me to, but there's nothing you can do about it.
Anyway, hln.be has a descent article about the race. http://www.hln.be/hln/nl/955/Auto--en-M ... lder.dhtml

Saw that indeed, pretty incredible to see that HLN has the least "sensationalist" coverage of them all for this.

well, quite difficuilt to change the mood here now, but what's the usual attendance for the Finalraces in Zandvoort? Similar to the Paasraces? Just wondering how early I need to be there to get a good parking spot near the roundabout

I think it's pretty similar yes. Also, traffic in Zandvoort is always a clusterfuck, doesn't matter how big the race is lol (as you probably have realised yourself)

yeah, getting out of there after DTM races used to take hours, I've been trapped in Zandvoort until 10pm after the 2007 A1GP race :p
Then I discovered the Bloemendaal route out of Zandvoort and voila, no traffic jams.

I usually take my bike when I go to Zandvoort. Park our car in Bloemendaal, get the bike and cycle to the track. Much, much faster then parking your car at the track.

Not sure what happened during the FIA-GT3 Qualifying at Zandvoort, but the session is red-flagged.

Looks like one Ford GT got some serious air in the fastest part of the track and destroyed the barrier. Hope jeroendedroog or racefan caught the crash on video.

He was very lucky not to go over the barrier.

mmm, maybe I should be standing somewhere else tomorrow....

Also, another question regarding the parking. Do you need a parking pass (or maybe even more) to get the parking areas behind the main grandstand? I was always wondering about that in previous years.
Or I'll just try my Spa tactics, see how far I can go before the people in orange get very nervous :p
