Why hasn't this happened before, really? A high-performance, shameless throwback open-wheel formula, mimicking something held dear. With so many other open-wheel classes being "spec", why hasn't there been something like this earlier? I think it looks really exciting!

Not sure whether that is a goodlooking car, I like the idea of a 5.0 v8 though!

Looks like it is based on the old Formula Nippon car.

I'm working on engine development for the project, glad to see it has had such a positive response from the announcement. Should deliver pretty exciting racing.

Nostalgia. Only the mock-up version so may see further tweaking and we're yet to do our cfd work on it.

That airbox seems to be taken straight from a 70s F5000 car :)

but I like it, looks great!

So, I'm the only person who absolutely hated the gigantic airbox look from the 70s? :(

They were iconic in the 70's, just seems a little silly now.

The fiber carbon is really weird. In an awesome way I mean, like your brain has to conciliate between anachronisms.

Wait a minute though... *looks at the date*

Australia, please share this with the rest of us. It's like the brilliantly hoonish Yang to Formula E's Yin.

Quick update on the car, we sent the engine back to Melbourne last week after time on the dyno and the transaxle is ready to go. Motec finishing off the electronics package and basically the test car should be running within the month. Things are moving ahead nicely.
