Yeah that is true. But still. He is even a full second faster then his team-mates.

Well, it's impressive.

Is Ricciardo doing british F3 with Carlin next year, or this just a test?

Id say he is. He will be one of the red bull junior drivers for Carlin in British F3. But there is also a chance of F3 Euro, but unlikely now.

You know him personally?

I think that might be a bit too much of a jump for him. Does make sense if the idea is just to learn, and then attack the championship in another season.

Carlin Announced Brendan Hartley for F3 EuroSeries and Daniel Ricciardo for British F3 Series.

Speaking about the signings, team boss Trevor Carlin said: "Brendon is a very valued and well liked member of the team. He showed stunning pace in British F3 last year and towards the end of the season a new maturity and confidence emerged in his racing, which I’m sure we’ll see again in F3 Euro Series in 2009.

"In British F3 we’ll be joined by Daniel Ricciardo and I’m delighted that Red Bull have entrusted us with one of their most promising young drivers.

"Daniel has been fantastic so far in testing; he’s been quick, consistent and has gelled really well into the team. 2009 will be his first full year in F3, but I think we can expect some great performances from him."

Carlin also announced they will be switching to VW engines for 2009.

Not sure any is official, but from all the stuff posted here it looks like it's Bianchi, Gutierrez, Bottas and Tambay?

That would be one hell of a lineup actually. 8O
