Was running fine until I linked it here so maybe the sudden influx of tbk user trashed'd it

Oh well I've been rewinding in while they fix it....has been a couple of start pile ups in the earlier races....

Apparently there was a serious accident at the Walter Hayes Trophy which left a few drivers injured, including life-changing injuries for one. Anyone know any more about what happened?

Scottish driver Colin Turner has had to have both legs amputated and suffered a bleed in brain. Autosort describes what happened:

Quote:
The incidents were triggered when Vector TF93 racer Dean Forward spun exiting Woodcote and crashed into the pitwall.

His stricken car was collected by Ken Finneran's Ray GR89 before the Vector was then hit again by Turner, while David Billington, David Porter and George Ditchfield all got caught up in the melee.

Both Finneran and Forward were taken by road ambulance to Northampton General Hospital but the battered and bruised pair were soon released.

However, Turner suffered the most serious injuries and was airlifted to University Hospital Coventry.

While surgeons battled to save his legs, both had to be amputated earlier this week.

Turner also suffered other injuries in the crash, including to his ribs.

Sounds utterly horrific but Turner is on the road to recovery and is said to be 'in good spirits'

Walter Hayes Trophy doesn't have a stream as far as I know (or any kind of web presence bar that report on Autosport that was behind the paywall so I couldn't see it)

It takes place at Silverstone the week after the Formula Ford Trophy, and for some reason is now seen as the more prestigious race, despite no-one knowing who won or anything about it compared to the comparitively higher media coverage of the FFF

BTW, the grand final was called off after 4 laps because of heavy rain and thunder.

Not the first time.

You’d think after 51 years they’d learn to build some lag into the schedule after the final in case this happens, it’s not like the Festival is like it was in the 80’s where they were getting 500 entries and it had to be run over five days to get everything in.

Annual bump: (I was clever not putting the year in the title  )

What will we get this year, stars of the future, the traditional crazy paddock hill bend flying crash, or the storm that's passing through the UK atm causing havoc and combined with over-cautious race directing, lead to a damp squib all around?

Some of the best racing of the season can happen right now, at the very end of the year, so lets hope for some good stuff!

Director again cut away from the accident as it was happening

It's their policy apparently "we're not here to show accidents"

Someone tell them they shouldn't be filming motorsport if they're scared of crashes...
