Well British F3000 ran with 3 cars in 1996 or 1997 before they killed that, British F3 is very healthy by comparison. |

Going to be hilarious when they have a first corner pile up. Awaiting the optimistic 'Driver X secures top five finish at Thruxton' press release. |

There was a startline crash actually, it removed an entire fifth of the field (After another car had spun on the sighting lap and spun at the final chicane on the green flag lap too.....good tast series british F3 ) |

F3 is likely to be dropped from the British GT package next year, if it even exists by then. |

I bet you the OTHER F4 (Palmer's) gets that slot, confusing matters with the proper FIA F4 (FFord) on the BTCC bill.... |

I give it three years before Palmer gets bored and creates another championship. |

Thread title changed to reflect. I think Trevor Carlin got it pretty much nailed; Trevor Carlin wrote: It's sad, but the writing's been on the wall for the past three years. It's a bit like when your grandad's on his last legs but stays alive for six months - you get used to the fact that it's going to happen eventually. Biggest mistake they ever made was not accepting the ToCA offer. Ratel couldn't run a piss up in a brewery. |

Gaara wrote: Great shame, over 60 years of history coming to an end. Thought it was looking likely when the coverage from the final round signed off with "hopefully" being back next year, not with certainty like in previous years. |

I'd say the Riccardo/Perez/Hartley/Alguersuari years were very much the swan song for the series, it's odd how it went down hill so fast |

Sad news. It does however looks like Carlin will move to the new British F4 championship on the BTCC bill. Fortec have already confirmed their participation. |
