The fifth season of GP3 will join F1 and GP2 at the European rounds, except for Monaco, with the finale coming in Abu Dhabi.

Red Bull has signed Alex Lynn and placed him at Carlin.

There's an important difference between Lynn and Mardenborough's situations; Mardenborough is not part of the Red Bull driver development programme, although he is being supported by RBR the team. He appears to have a deal very similar to Mitch Evans' when he was in GP3.

I thought he was pretty close with NZ drivers so should be reliable. I think he reserves a last shot, it was too zoon for GT.
