What makes this race even better is that 4 drivers could have gave Hinch a run for his money (Carpenter, Rahal, Kannan, and RHR). Would have seen a great battle for the lead if lapped traffic didn't play a role. Oh well, part of racing is dealing with slower traffic.

Lapped traffic is always a factor on short ovals! You don't get 3 wide finishes on those tracks because someone will be always hampered by slower cars...

I was out with some friends this evening and did not see the race. So happy for Hinch! This weekend finished on a high (for me at least) all things considered.....

If you thought the Texas rating on ABC was bad, Iowa was even worse. Not sure why they scheduled it at around the same time as the Cup race on Sunday instead of Saturday night like it always was.

Because that would be one less race on ABC.

Of course, I get treated to such intelligent comments from the site:
Quote:
No, just a joke of a track and even more of a joke of a race. I love how they basically lied and claimed if the state would give them millions NASCAR would bring a Cup race, prompting NASCAR to issue a statement refuting it. They've been claiming a Cup race is coming since they opened, within 2 years there won't even be a NASCAR race and then they'll be begging for a tax payer bailout.

Quote:
NO NASCAR!?!?!?!? Oh NOOOOOO!!!!! How will we survive!?!?!? (Gag...) Newton deserves better than this sorry sows ear. The JOKE is believing that this was a good investment to begin with... Calling moonshine runners athletes and calling driving cars fast a 'sport' is insulting to begin with... The sooner Newton starts investing in REAL jobs (year around jobs) the sooner that city will realize tax and economic profits

NASCAR....? Indy CORN 250...? Ha ha ha ha ha!!! The joke never gets old... It just gets sad...

Notice the lack of mention of IndyCar anywhere.

I've never been a big fan of Iowa, it's too short and too high banked, just doesn't work as a racetrack.

I like you, but your tastes in tracks is very bad. Lol. Aren't you the one who also hates Darlington?

So 1.5's are better then (in general)?

Iowa is perfectly built, its about a mile long, very slightly progressively banked so all lanes work at any time, the corner exits are open and there's enough to keep the drivers attention.

Nope.

I love Milwaukee that's like the perfect Indycar track....makes you work hard for every pass but rewards you for being brave.

Dude, both Milwaukee and Iowa are great short oval, even though they're nothing alike. It's like comparing bacon and apple pie, both are great American things.

Don't take my word? Try rFactor with 1995 CART mod on both tracks. They're awesome challenge and very intense.

You have to be out of your tree to say Iowa is a bad oval. :) It's put on nothing but epic racing in virtually every oval series that's ever raced on it. It should have been 'the' cookie cutter mould.

Codename doesn't like Iowa because it wasn't on the CART schedule. ;)

Iowa's a good track (tho, if you watched the races pre-DW12, they sucked).

I dislike it becakse it breaks my rule that any word of 4 letters or more shouldn't have have a vowel content of greater than 50% percent.
