This. I don't think I've ever heard a crowd so loud and emotionally charged at Indy in a long time. They were going nuts for TK.

Same here. Damn Rahal. Men of the race for me were Allmendinger and Munoz, both did an incredible job in their first 500.

Fucking awesome winner, and 10/10 race. Congrats TK, incredibly well deserved. Also covered up the fact that everyone's favourite Scotsman ruined another great finish! :p

I think Indycar really has something great up their sleeves. This race could've easily turn into a wreckfest, the way they were running, yet the drivers managed to take care of each other and have a really clean race. I'm thinking this crop is better that most of us give thin they are....

And with a 4 wide finish in Lights, the next generation is looking good too!

I can't hide I'm a bit disappointed with Castroneves, I was hoping a 4th Indy win this time....but luck has left him behind.

He was doing the right strategy all the time, saving fuel, saving equipment and preparing for a blitzkrieg in the last 10 laps....but all of the circumstances haven't helped, in these times, Indianapolis magic counts a lot. He didn't have the best setup, but he could improve in the last laps, specially not forcing the car as much as the leaders.....but this is Indianapolis!

but it was a good race, it was a long time since last time I saw a great green flag period in Indy

That was a great race to watch in a pub with some fellow motorsport nuts :)
Tbh after Monaco and Indy I don't think I want to watch any other race anywhere else, such an addictive atmosphere, made a few new friends AND potentially converted a few F1 Diehards to Indycar....
Not a bad days work :)

Amazing race, clean, overtaking, drama, strategy.....then the end was a bit of an anti-climax as the whole race was building towards it, but you kind of felt the you'd seen enough action anyway in the preceding 198 laps that you weren't toooo short changed by a yellow finish.
Besides, the fans made the finish with their reaction to Kanaan even if the racing didn't ;)

The only thing I think Indycar might look at is perhaps bringing back an old rule they used to have, if there's a yellow in the last 7 laps or so, think about throwing a red regardless of severity. That way you don't extend the race like a GWC would but you have a greater shot at the race finishing under green under the advertised distance.
Regardless, I don't want to turn this into a Indy Lights incident (:p ) I'm very happy with the race as it was, just if there's anything that could be said about the finish, it's that.
GWC? No thanks!

P.S. Did they ever replay Franchitti's final crash? Didn't see it myself but had to leave within 10 mins of the finish anyway...?

This was pretty much how I picture a Hansford-era race would be like.

I had to watch this again. At 1:16 you can see a car going off-line at the background, that's Dario.

So Dario ruined a potentially epic finish in the series biggest race...

Dario Franchitti, the Greg Biffle of Indycar.

Except that he's capable of actually winning the big race, and I respect him for that.
