I like this circuit. I also like the very unique back straight, which is anything but straight.

I really hate the turn 8/9 complex.

Hopefully the organisation corrected the kerbs from the Samba S.

I'll be there once again, can't wait for it!

Last year I've made faux pas here by saying before the race we had a flyby of "firefighters" (perhaps I was high on alcohol or something to say such stupidity). But I mean't Brazilian Air Force Jets have made an incredible flyby before the start and that amazed people so much.

Can't wait to see it again, aswell as the race of course.

Why does the kerbs at the Samba S need to be corrected?

They're too high. I don't want see anyone crossing that in high speed and taking off to compete with the brazilian air force jets in the sky.

Those kerbs are dangerous and has to be corrected in my view. Since 2011 there are complaints, so I believe this time, they may be changed.

Here's some more information that's worthy of a first post. If the OP were kindly to add this there, I'd appreciate it:

Welcome to the Will Power Invitational Sao Paulo 300, where races are not that memorable due to Will Power winning everything it's always wet, cold, and rainy. The track is where their annual festival Carnival is held (and, conveniently, where the start-finish line is), so the track has been special to the IndyCar schedule. Watch out for that chicane of doom off the grandstand stretch!

2.535-mile temporary street course
75 laps

NOTE: I cannot find the track schedule on the official race site, so we'll make do with the information from the IndyCar site

SAO PAULO -- Tony Cotman won’t be surprised if the track record falls on the streets of Sao Paulo during qualifications for the Itaipava Sao Paulo Indy 300 presented by Nestle.

A modification to Turns 1 and 2 of the 2.536-mile street circuit has been made with the goal of maximizing passing opportunities for the drivers. It will also give them a chance to post faster lap times.

“The biggest change is that we’ve moved the curbing in Turn 1 and 2, particularly in Turn 2, where they have been moved quite a bit to the driver’s right,” said circuit designer Cotman, whose NZR Consulting is responsible for the track build.

“(Turn 2 is) about 10 feet wider now and the curbs that are there have been lowered, so the corner will be quicker, without question. The goal was to help improve things for double-file restarts and particularly in the rain. We’ve seen how difficult it can be over the years.”

The widening of the corner will allow cars to race side-by-side as they come off the concrete portion of the Sambadrome and into complex known as the “S” of Samba.

“The corner will still be painted, and there still will tires behind the apexes,” Cotman said. “The difficulty for the drivers is they can’t see the curbs or the corner, especially when you are right behind another car. We’ll give them a reference point by painting the tires a contrasting color. Hopefully we’ve improved it.”

Cotman also said there has been some smoothening of bumps, particularly in Turn 10, as well as some drainage issues.

“We’ve addressed the key bumps, but just because a bump has been addressed in a certain corner, doesn’t mean more bumps won’t be found,” Cotman said. “It’s a street circuit, so there always will be bumps, but our goal is to improve them.”

The way this track has been laid out, pretty much guarantees a slipstreaming race that's always won by Will Power interesting

Thanks Tommy Vercetti!

I was a bit lazy to bring all the weekend data. All I can say is that, watch IndyCar on Sunday because you won't regret guys! It's going to be an exciting race with hopefully NOT a Will Power win!

I'll be there and I'll bring details about the atmosphere during the weekend.

so, does the race organizers (AKA the tv network that fails at life from being too conservative) are calling sobrenatural forces to avoid rain again?

never learned with Max Mosley and their Rainkiller 3000

Unfortunately it seems Power will dominate here again. Nothing against him, it's just that I had hope Takuma could take the fight

Let's see if this could bring a good race
