Great race I thought. But why did they have to use the chicane on the restart? Wouldn't it make more sense to line the whole field up correctly side by side and just bypass that chicane? Now only the top 6 could get side by side at every restart.

About the chicane, the commentator here said that they should have put some kind of concrete over the rails in order to get an even surface and then take it away on sunday night. Could be concrete or anything "easily" removable. Sounds hard to do but it could be feasible.

I'm sure they were extremely limited in their options. It is a city street (public property) after all.
