Penske confirmed after qualifying that it had opted to change Power's engine despite it not having reached its full mileage, while Dreyer & Reinbold announced Servia's engine change shortly afterwards. Power had qualified seventh, while Servia was 20th.

The pair join pole-winner Ryan Hunter-Reay, Ganassi's Scott Dixon and HVM driver Simona de Silvestro in being docked 10 grid places for making unauthorised changes.

Dixon and de Silvestro's penalties are both carried over from the previous race in Toronto two weeks ago.

It will be an interesting race cause the two title protagonists are marred down the grid. Somehow I can see one of them end up in that infamous mid-pack fracas sooner or later.

btw, I believe Dixon's wife is Welsh. Wales seems to have the prettiest women in UK anyway ;)
