If you're not hung over from taxicabs at Daytona, then you'll watch the infinitely better American auto racing series in Bizarro Land, where people boo babyfaces and cheer heels!

Compared to TNT, Fox, and NBC Sports on channel 1000 they are fucking fantastic.

Yeah, if you don't mind dull commentary and production crew missing key battles.

Then you will never enjoy a televised race ever.

F1 doesn't have commercials :p If Indy had some sort of PPV set up or something where I could pay to watch it without commercials it would be worth the few bucks...

Where IndyCar comes from there's commercials, F1 and all other forms of racig and sports all have commercials. Kinda just get used too it.

I had the idea on my own quite a few years ago that NASCAR (or some top-tier racing series) should offer a PPV/Subscription service through the TV companies that would show just the raw broadcast with no ads and no 5 second delays of any kind.

I would pay for something like that.

The Jeff Krosnoff 4 piece story written by Marshall Pruett last year is being put up again this year since he lost part 4 last year.

I'm off work so was browsing the web and thought I'd see what kind of times the new car was doing at Toronto. Will Power got the pole last year with a time of 59.5771 /106.047 mph.

1st lap of the day, Newgarden's car stalls just after T1 - red flag.
They momentarily went green but after an installation lap, coming into the pits, Justin Wilson locked up, crashed hard into Bourdais and ran over a crew member. 2nd red flag -- long one as they had to evacuate the injured crew member to hospital and needed cross track access.

Can they have 1 weekend without something getting messed up?

Hearing (from a chat room from someone who has friends at the track, great source I know...) that there has been a bit of a nasty accident at Toronto already.

Someone has lost control of their car in the pit lane and hit Bourdais parked car and injured one of his mechanics, anyone else getting info on this? :?

*edit* Timing, as it just comes through above....scary... :8:

Actually it may have been no brakes, not locked up.

Dragon crew member got neck brace but reporter says he saw "full movement".

F'ing idiots on IndyCar radio broadcast - they keep saying that Simon Pagenaud has never turned laps at Toronto before and how fantastic it is he's in the Top 5 so far. They did it earlier they just did it again... and again -- 4x now.

Pagenaud raced in Toronto in Atlantics in 2006 and in Champ Car in 2007.

<IDIOTS>

God, 20 seconds later they go on to talk about some RHR stat and the one guy answers how correctly how many poles he has. "You're looking at the stats book aren't you?" says the one guy. "Yeah", he replies.

3rd red flag of the session - Tagliani spun and Justin Wilson came around corner and spun into tires to avoid him.

End of session.

Wilson confirmed the pit incident the car wouldn't go into neutral and just kept going at speed and then his brakes did nothing. He decided to try to hit the pit wall to scrub off speed but at the last minute saw the crew man. Feels bad for the injured crew guy Chuck.
