Wonder if they'll fix that bump which claimed a number of cars in Practise 3?

Like Formula 1 at China, this should provide a very interesting lineup.

Power 1:08.8516, Hunter-Reay, Franchitti, Briscoe, Viso and Hinchcliffe move to the Final 6.

Dixon had a fire under the car, was black flagged but kept going. Probably a penalty there.

Power's time is about 2 tenths faster that last year's fastest time.

Franchitti will start from pole, being the only non-Chevy car in the Fast 6. Josef Newgarden (7th this session) starts in the front row.

Personally I wouldn't bother going out in the final session if I was most of the drivers....Franchitti certainly shouldn't bother.

There's still the point and cash for pole available for the fastest.

Yeah, Franchitti is probably going to stink it up for the win but everything behind him should be pretty exciting.

Got back from the track.

-If any of you decided to make it down to Long Beach in the near future, take some time to visit the Lifestyle Expo. There's lots to do in there if there are some events that just doesn't interest you. It makes a great time waster until the race/on-track event you care starts.

-The celebrity race is, hands down, the best I've ever seen. There were fights for the lead and two instances that would warrant a FC yellow (one of them involving a car spinning out and stopped ON THE INSIDE OF THE HAIRPIN TURN) but race officials thought celebrities racing is REAL RACING and held the flags in.

-Qualys were interesting, to say the least. 5 of the fast 6 were Chevys and thus were bit by the penalty. Should be interesting to see tomorrow.

-The ALMS race was not the best race I've seen at LB. There was only two real battles, both involving a hoodless #3 GT2 Corvette. Still better than NASCAR at Texas...

Nah, Darios really not got a handle on the new car. If he doesn't improve I can see this being his last season in IndyCar before moving to sportscars.

I honestly thought he'd retire after Dan's death, what with being in his late-thirties with four titles.
