Really sad to see Newman/Haas go away.

But I feel the opposite about Barnhart, though. The race at New Hampshire was really the last straw.

Really sad news. One less reason to persevere with IndyCar next season.

Damn...this team was one of my all-time favorite in any forms of Motorsports... And see many talents like Bourdais, Michael and Mario Andretti, Mansell, Christian Fittipaldi, Da Matta, Wilson, Servia, Graham Rahal... and a unique passion from Newman, and after his dead, the team trying to keep the same way, but McDonalds and SC go away...

I'm so sad tonight.

Hope that all the people working on the team will find a place on some good teams next year. It will be stupid for other teams to forgive about Hinchcliffe and Servia.

Gutted :(

One step forward, good news wise, a few massive steps back :(

So much history in that team, so much success and championships, amazing that it ends like this.

Lanigan wasn't exactly the best steward to ensure their lasting legacy was he? *sigh*

They closing their doors completely or will the continue to race in lower league series or, well, anywhere at all?

*edit* And oh yeah, once and for all, is there ANY connection between Carl and the NASCAR team owner Haas?

Unfortunately I think we can only expect to see more news like this in motorsports over the coming years, the worlds economy isn't exactly healthy at the moment so chaising sponsors is harder than ever

That blows. My earliest memories of Indycar were cheering on Nigel Mansell in their car.

In more positive news, Star Mazda will support Indycar for a lot of their races.

Carl Haas is 81. No way he was going to run the team on his own at this age, in fact I believe he stretched it by few years anyway. Guess there was no one who could have taken over the team (the Lanigan fiasco didn't help his cause either) and it wasn't all about the money. Meanwhile will Hinchciffe's chances to get the GoDaddy car rise now?

Yes, but they still went down when they were at their peak. Now they are working on a joke of a project just to survive.

Lanigan wasn't even apart of Newman Haas last season. He left and joined Rahal Letterman.

And no, they are closing shop.

Yeah, I know he's mad and I don't care. I do not care. I did not care then. I do not care now. I'm here to race him.
