True, but IndyCar should not be going to an additional crap track for racing just because it is slightly less crap than an already-added crap track for racing.

If that makes sense.

They have to go somewhere where the racing can be shown off.

Yeah, I know he's mad and I don't care. I do not care. I did not care then. I do not care now. I'm here to race him.

They have to go somewhere period, to full fill the contract with IZOD.

If nothing else is sorted, and I don't think it's been mentioned, I wonder whether they'd get desperate enough to run the Indy Road Course during the Super Weekend thingy.

Not a chance to slot into the Grand-Am friday. Sat & Sun will be all oval racing.

It does seem it will eventually be Road America. But I now read about MIS too. Whatever the case, they need to announce it ASAP.

Obviously that's the most important thing, but if they're in negotiations with Michigan and Road America I believe that either of those two tracks would allow IndyCar to put on a show.

They should both be on the calendar for 2013 at any rate.

Laguna is exciting to watch, but it isn't exciting to watch.

I saw the guy that runs my home track today. I should have asked him to get a hold of Randy to have the Atlanta Speedway host the 16th race. Seeing how Texas was, it'd be a good race.

I was talking about the track, not the racing...

So many tracks around the world are exciting and sometimes produce exciting races. But more often than not, they don't. Laguna Seca is no different to many other tracks in that respect. But that doesn't mean it's not a spectacular track.

Oh yeah, great track with awesome characteristics. But one of the worst tracks to watch on TV.
Whereas a track like Road America is both awe inspiring and excellent to watch.

Laguna is a really nice track for driving alone and hotlapping but as a race track its one of the worst. Its a really short track so there isn't a really long straight and the braking zones aren't straight and are too short to have a big advantage under brakes.

The old layout of Laguna Seca was better...pre 1988. 1987 was the last race on the old layout for cart.

Watch Geoff Brabham struggle with his helmet: :8:

That video's worth it for David Hobbs' Jackie Stewart impersonation (seek to 1:13:50).

New poll?

Qingdao replacement:
-Michigan
-Elkhart Lake

While both tracks need to be on the calendar, right now I would like to see another oval (and a classic one at that) so Michigan gets my vote.
