A few minutes in, when I was completely caught up listening to a great guy in a fun interview, I suddenly realised 'he's gone' and a horrible feeling washed over me. Thank you for posting it, although I'll have to listen to the rest tomorrow. Let's just hope lessons are learnt from this, and there are changes for the better.

Goodbye Dan, I was merely a fan but I'll miss you a lot.

Apparently Tracy was on CNN a few minutes ago. Anyone got a clip?

Which show? I'll cap a replay

I think it was Wolf Blitzer's show, but I'm not positive since I don't know CNN's schedule.

I only heard about what happened this morning and it's been on my mind all day.

RIP, Dan. You were a great driver.

Excerpt from an article regarding the coroners report
The 33-year-old Wheldon was pronounced dead at 1:54 p.m. Sunday at University Medical Center in Las Vegas, where he was flown by medical helicopter after the crash at the track about 12 miles away.

After an autopsy, Murphy ruled the death an accident, the result of blunt trauma to the head due to motor vehicle collision, and offered condolences to friends and family of the married father of two from England.

Well, it's been over a day now, and I still feel like shit.

And I've been hating myself so much for saying on the msn convo before the race, that this was the Dallara's last chance to kill somebody.

I really hope Indycar see sense and drop Vegas and Texas regardless of the financial situation breaking their contracts with them would entail.

I wouldn't care if they never came back to Texas. I've been there as a spectator twice, and I'd be lying if I said the thought of being killed by flying debris never entered my mind.

Hopefully they've fixed the ground effects/floor pan on the 2012 car, or it's round 2.

So very similar to Greg Moore's tragic accident then :(
to me it's more like Jeff Krosnoff. I can bet he hit one of those pole in the fence with his head and that knocked him out, probably broke his neck.
That's like stealing someone's wallet, then bringing it back and asking for the reward.
