It's smoother than Texas, as the pavement is much younger.

I have a feeling that Danica's car has been altered somehow that she can be that fast. She's been absolutely nowhere this season and suddenly in her final Indycar race she's the fastest? Hard to believe that it's all about what she did on that lap. That, or tomorrow the more usual top ten will show their real speed.

It may not count for much (given the way the Indycars drive) but she is the only person in the field to have driven on this track before (Nationwide this spring).

i'd hold off judging speeds for a couple more sessions. everyones just gettin their cars setup still and she probably got a nice draft goin for a lap haha

I don't see why they would want to try & give her a car advantage at this point because she ain't staying.

Fixing her car to try & help her win when she's off to Nascar serves no purpose to the series as any attention/promotion she would get would just go with her to Nascar which would only help Nascar. Indycar would get nothing from it.

Qualifying just ended, Kanaan on pole followed by Servia, Carpenter and Tags. Power and Dario are the worst-qualified "red" cars, at 17th and 18th! Jakes and Viso did not run.
