Official word is that Dan Wheldon was transported to the local hospital. That's been the only info we've had for the last hour or more.

Situation understood. But the track is repaired and they go restart now if race control wanted to. Yes, the condition of Dan is unreported, but is it unusual like this for nothing to happen until race control has made an announcement?
Senna for example, the race was restarted with his condition unknown. It's not the case here.

As far as I know, there have been no other official reports since Dan was airlifted out of the track.

All that can be done now is to watch and wait.
