DTM's rulebook goes similarly, but in German instead.

Haven't posted here in a long time, haven't watched an IndyCar race in a long time. Even for the comedic value it's not worth it. These chumps are killing the sport. I just checked in to see if they were dead yet..

Maybe some of you in Europe and elsewhere not in north america watch it because it's different to what you normally watch or something i don't know but sadly for those of us on the west side of the Pond, this joke of a series is all we have. It's not getting better it's getting worse. Randy Barnyard isn't helping things, he's abetting them.

Yes, he's been classified as 17th.

Pantano got a penalty for that?

Jesus-H-Christ, what is it with series doing their best to kill themselves?

Yeah, this is heading towards DTM levels of officiating.

Fuck IndyCar
Fuck blocking rules
Fuck Barnhart
Fuck Cotman
Fuck all the teams for allowing these joke rules to be in place

Why do some people (including Robin Miller) seem to want Cotman to replace Barnhart? The guy is clearly a wanker who together with Barnhart is ruining any potential for racing to return to AOW. While Champ Car clearly had far more awesome machinery right to the last season with Panoz, the post-split years were ruined for me with retarded blocking rules, thanks to Cotman as far as I recall. Plus the guy has the sheer arrogance to defend and oversee that monstrosity of a new car, when it was clear that the aesthetics of the current historic Dallara were a big deal for the few fans the series still has...

Pantano is the story of the most boring race imaginable, and he gets a penalty that's ridiculous for the 'crime' (which is being a racing driver, something you're allowed to do in supposedly less important series like GP2). It's infuriating :yuk:

Just seen the pass. Was he really penalised for that? Seriously?

Quote:
Dennis Reinbold's quote: ""We know that we were penalized, but we are just considering that as hot air. On the re-start the League put the lapped No. 18 car in front us randomly with no explanation as to why they did that. As a result we had to battle between lapped cars. Whatever they say we are not going to acknowledge it."

This makes no sense at all.

+1

There were a lot of Champ Car fans who hated Cotman in Race Control. On some sites, those who criticized were silenced. Iindy fans weren't even paying attention and now looking back only see what people wanted them to see.

As far as Robin Miller and his love affair, I think it has something to do with the fact that Champ Car pulled his hard card for speaking out negatively about the series and making stuff up. But Cotman took him out for lunch to sit down and discuss things with him afterwards, and paid the bill for the both of them.

The joke didn't stop at the penalty, the information did not even reach the team in the first place, Pantano was informed about the penalty 20 minutes later in an interview. Moreoever, there were further controversies as to where to place the lapped cars in this speed tv article.

Evidently, since nothing was ever officially released on paper by INDYCAR, Barnhart ruled that Pantano had used the inside line to keep Bourdais behind him.

Fuck you, Barnhart.

Even worse is that no one told Pantano about the penalty, making the ruling even more suspect.

I said it at New Hampshire - IndyCar has a rule which allows them to make it up as they go along. They did it again for this race.

Not senile, he's just incompetent. Always has been. They need a new rulebook, hell, they need a new lot of things really.
