Why would F1 on Sky in the UK would have any effect in the US ratings lol.

It won't, exactly but, if Randy is smart, he will battering down doors to try and get a FTA deal of some sort in this country.

If F1 goes Sky only in 2013 (as it probably will), there will be a big market for motorsports which MotoGP alone will not satisfy.

It should not be massively difficult to generate interest among the fairweathers seeing as there's far more chance of a Brit winning the ICS title than a Brit winning the F1 title.

Personally, no, but that wouldn't stop a broadcaster from promoting him as 'British'.

And besides, Wheldon should be in a drive which would be another home driver to promote around.

None of the Brits in IndyCar really get counted as "one of ours" really. I guess the series is just too detatched from the UK for that feeling to carry over. Wilson is probably considered more because of his F1 experience. Those like Wheldon, Franchitti and Howard tend to just blend in with the series more.
