Only got to watch the race yesterday (managed to not find out the result) and loved it  Sure, there were too many SC laps, but the drivers went for it 200% and that obviously results in crashes. Will be interesting to see if these fights will result in somekind of payback moves in the next few races.

We're not going to get to see a Tags/Power rivalry.
I called him to ask what that was all about, and that’s when we both figured it out: He thought I was Briscoe. My car and Briscoe’s car at Toronto looked almost the same. Our tubs are white, the sidepods and wings are black. Will didn’t know I snuck by Briscoe right after he did, and I guess they had a deal or something so he never expected Briscoe to try and pass. That’s why he was chopping me all those times and turned in at [Turn] 5 on me. He thought I was Briscoe and didn’t think a teammate would put his nose in there or go down the inside like that. The cars look close enough that I understand what happened.
...
He called me a wanker; I called him a tosser and now it’s all done!

That's fine, that's a good explanation, and kind of a funny last line.

Overnight rating for the race was .41

2008 Sonoma rating on ESPN2: .41

Finally we're making some headway here.

Rugby doesn't get those kinds of ratings here, though.

Why the fick do you guys complain? They were not any better) doing a parade!

This race was full of dumb and needless crashes and not much else...ie, actual racing.

0/10.

It's 10/10 on the comedy scale, but I rather see some actual racing, yeah.

PT and Hinch side by side corner after corner? On a street circuit? Oh yeah, thats not proper racing. One of the most fantastic bits of competition I've seen in a while! Incredible close stuff!

Why did PT stay on the pit so long after that incident? It only looked like a broken wing but he ended up 1 or 2 laps down due to the long pitstop.

Was talking about WWE actually, not Rugby! Raw gets anywhere between a 2.8 and 3.4 rating each week ATM...

Raw presents a compeling story and interesting characters to the demographic they aim for and it is also one of the longest running shows on television.

Open wheel racing sadly can not say the same.

You really can't compare a soap opera with acrobatics to a competitive sport. :p

A better comparison might be F1... the first rating I could find, the European Grand Prix (on Fox) got a .8 rating.

Indy is probably pulling enough to not become the World of Outlaws and disappear completely off television... so far...
