Yeah, I'd also put Texas World into IndyCar standards.

If they could do 214mph laps in 1973 then they can do it now as well.

Isn't this track a twin track to MIS and CS?

It is. I would prefer just to have one track of any kind on the shedule.

If I would have to choose 5 big ovals, 5 small ovals, 5 roadies and 5 streets my shedule would consist of the following:

Indy, Texas, Eurospeedway, Rockingham (UK), Michigan;
Loudon, Millwaukee, Phoenix, Iowa, Nashville;
Mid Ohio, Elkhart Lake, Barber, Laguna, Bathurst;
Sao Paulo, Long Beach, St. Pete, Toronto, Baltimore;

Indy, Texas and Michigan would be the tripple crown with Texas and Michigan 499 Mile Races (start on the backstretch).

Schedule them as you wish.

Well ISC has changed their mind after Randy called they bluff last year and they are hoping to get IndyCars back to Chicagoland for next season. That would be a good for the series.

Starting on the backstretch wtf.

First of all, that'd increase the milage of each race by .75mi(texas) and 1mi(Michigan). Secondly, why?

Because it would technicaly be a 500 miler and would draw the attention that a 500 miler would draw without hurting Indys spot as the longest and therefore hardest race on the calendar.

Because we all remember how Ontario, Pocono, Michigan, and California all had more notoriety than the Indianapolis 500 did...
Christ, Beezle, you're dumb.

I thought we had the Le Mans thread to confirm that fact?

Another 500 mile races will never take the importance and prestige away from Indy. NASCAR has loads of 500 milers but the greatest will always be Daytona. Hell, IndyCar could even pull a 400 miler at Indy itself later in the year and it wouldn't be even near as big as the 500.

Question. Why is that Versus coverage with ESPN Tickers? do they jut use the ESPN for the international market or something?

You realize that if you start them on the backstretch, you actually increase the race distance, right?

Not if you ran 249 laps after the first half one is completed, right? ;)

Te be completely honest this wasnt nearly ment as a serious suggestion. And I am completely with you thinking, that no other 500 miler can even try to climb indys spot, BUT there are people that want under no circumstances at all see their holy cow in any danger. Remember that this was the cause why fontana and michigan were 400 milers in the last few years of IRL. At least I think this was one of the reasons.

2 races at Indy won't work, they should keep it special and only race there once. I hate that in Nascar, they visit most tracks twice. There are enough other tracks in the US, go race on those instead.
