I hate the idea of the famous Indy 500 becoming a fuel mileage race, all the past highlights of classic finishes were of great duels on the track, not random fuel mileage victories.

And I don't know how much Wil Vincent has told you all but we watched the race in the pub where people were demanding more crashes! (casual fans! :yuk: ) and they were dipping in and out, but after the finish I was asked about the series and when the next race was, etc.

Yep, finished turned the race from a forgettable parade to a classic that will be talked about forever.
Only the final lap will be replayed over and over, not much else.

I don't know about you, but I saw some really good racing throughout, specially on the restarts.

That's what you get when the last caution is about 40 laps from the end, about 1 stint on fuel. If we had gotten another caution after that one we would have had a flat out race because a lot would have topped up with fuel.

Fuel mileage races are okay on ovals, they are horrible on road circuits and Champcar had a lot of fuel mileage races on those tracks, didn't you like that series ;)

Seriously my first entire Indy 500 was pretty boring, the ads were horrendous, but the last 15 laps was enthralling.

The coverage in general was horrible

After flying home from the race i watched the SpeedTV Australia coverage i recorded hoping it might explain some of the goings-on i saw at the track...... it left me none-the-wiser.....

The sooner the Indy500 coverage is passed from ABC America over to Versus/NBC the better....

The conveying of ABC until it was good but had too many commercial breaks.
