That's the way the cookie crumbles at Indy. It sucks, but racing's a business and you're not there to make friends.

Must be more of a business than in the 1990s, when Penske failed to qualify for one Indy. They couldn't buy their way into the field.

Actually, maybe its that sponsorship is so much harder to get these days? Probably in the 1990s it was easier for rides to get unique sponsors. First impression is that Foyt sounded like he only had one sponsor for two cars and was attracted by the RHR sponsorship money... *shrug*

I think this is actually the *first* time I've heard of an *inter-team* swap post qualifying. I've heard of other teams loaning out T-cars to struggling people before, but not this. *Googles*

Okay, AJ sold George Snider's ride to Tim Richmond in 1981, so he's experienced with this sort of thing.

I hope Conway goes to a better team next year. AA is too built around the two lesser drivers.

When Danica leaves for NASCAR next year, so will GoDaddy and AA will only run Marco and perhaps RHR if his current (or new) sponsors stay on board. Without GoDaddy, Conway is not going to stay in AA for 2012

Dear Penske, hire Conway.

And who will pay for it? GoDaddy is all about Danica and Conway wouldn't have even been at AA if they didn't pay that bill.

Great to see that Kanaan's influence is hugely missed in that team. They are able to manage themself on road courses, but they are nowhere on ovals.
They weren't exactly great at indy in qualifying last year with TK there either.

AA seem to struggle on ovals in qualifying trim but usually do a lot better in the race. Look at Indy last year, they were all struggling in qualifying yet all ended up well into the top 10 during the race & the same is true on most the ovals.

Indycar makes such a big deal about the Indy 500 yet when it comes down to it Money is much more important than speed.

Poor Bruno, first talentless Foyt grandchild breaks his back then grandad makes sure he can't race there....what has Indy got against him? :(

Wasn't it Junky that had that horrible crash with Foyt a few years back as well?

Just to try and lighten the mood in this thread away from the Bruno/RHR/Foyt/Andretti deal...a shot from the meeting of epic proportions.

I seriously need to shave.

Sitting here in the museum, very easy to get contemplative in here, that's for sure.

That pretty much applies to all major forms of motorsports.

How good is that car collection!

I was in there Tuesday, when none other than Dario Franchitti strolls in for a look at the Clark Lotus.

Hopefully this rain goes away by Sunday too.... or preferrably tommorrow for Indy Lights qualifying
