How did Formula 2 manage to throw some new tyres on the car (Yokohama for those that car) and a new braking system and call it an "new car launch"

Yeah, it'll lower laptimes by 2 seconds apparently, yay.

Call me when they get more horsepower...

Well they did the same with the FPA car of 1997, relaunched it with a low nosecone and called it F2. So this "new car launch" shouldn't be much of a surprise right?

I guess not, we know Dr P likes his publicity.

After all the fuss that was kicked up over the weekend he admitted he hadn't decided what to do with Graham Hill bend yet so all that fuss that was kicked up was over nothing.

I guess this is the same thing, big fuss, no substance.

I didn't think the "Williams" chassis had any relation to the old FPA Van Diemen???

It doesn't. But the cars looks extremely similar. It wouldn't suprise me if the original intellectual property rights to the Van Diemen designs were owned by Palmer and in order to keep the costs of the new F2 series down, Williams were given the designs to base the new car on. Just a theory.

9 drivers confirmed so far. I did the preview for Autosport today of those confirmed, including everyone's favourite Bulgarian.
