Wasn't AGR going to run the cars now? I even read that MArco Andretti or Danica Patrick would come over to do some races (in autosport a few weeks ago)

New Lebanon livery, like it a lot

The Portugal livery used to be something similar to that. I miss that now.

The American public didn't really care tbh.

That begs the question for me: in which country is A1GP really popular? Netherlands? Some of the Asian countries? Anybody?

Nor do pretty much any of the countries competing in A1, it would still be a big shame to lose them.

Incidentally, the new Lebanon livery is excellent.

it says on team usa's site that they're going to be powered by ferrari for the 2008-2009 season, so they must be sticking around. right? :/

Its so popular that last years best a1 broadcaster can't afford to show it live this year http://www.a1gp.com/Multimedia/TVListings.aspx?tvc=IN
ESPN Star Sports :yuk: *BEEP*

But certainly i like A1 :D

I unfortunately have to confirm the trend - A1GP receives little to no attention here in Australia either. Our free-to-air rights holder shows the occasional race (not every race) between one and two weeks after the events. You can see the race live on Pay TV, but only if there is no competing (and arguably more popular sport) on at the same time. Any cricket, rugby, football etc etc gets the slot.

Real shame unfortunately - I doubt sponsors will really be interested if the races aren't being covered, if they aren't being covered nobody will be exposed to the great racing and/or the sponsors, and it's a vicious circle that will end with a pretty swift demise for the series. I'm hoping Ferrari playing a major role in it will spark some interest in the series, but it doesn't look good.

Portugal's livery is pretty interesting I reckon, unique if nothing else.

Portugal's radical new livery

A1 Team Portugal is going green this season – literally.

The team has just unveiled its radical new livery for the 2008/09 season, which is a big departure from its previous white and red-based efforts.

This artist’s impression of the new design shows it in all of its glory – and it is an impressive all green-based affair, matching the green and red of the Portuguese flag. The team will wear red race suits.

Filipe Albuquerque, announced in June as the team’s main driver, will have the privilege of racing the car this season.

The first round of the new season is at Zandvoort on 5 October, 2008.

Don't this livery remind you of Jordan's first F1 car?

Fox Sports have sponsorship on the livery this year. Might be a positive sign.

I'd say it's most popular in the Netherlands tbh, yeah.

It's a great shame that A1GP doesn't get more exposure. It's not like Superleague Formula in that it's a rubbish and pointless series; assuming of course that the new car lives up to the standards of the old one, it's got all the ingredients for a hugely popular series. I reckon they should look at making a TV deal with ITV here in the UK - now ITV have lost F1 and with it GP2, A1GP would make a good replacement and after a few seasons may begin to become a rival to F1.

A1GP has still got to expand it's broadcast. Here in Belgium the only way to watch is an illegal internet stream... Or satalite dich, I'm not shure. But only 10% of the houses have a satalite dich here in Belgium.
Untill that, it won't be able to rival against Formula 1 at all.
