By the way, for the Frenchies, our coverage will be way better this season:

- A1GP Qualifyings & Sprint Races LIVE on Abmoteurs
- A1GP Feature Races LIVE on NT1

With commentary by Pat Angeli & Philippe Chereau. :p

Dutch viewers will be spoilt with A1GP on RTL 7, at least for the race at Zandvoort.

- Friday, review of last season with Jos Verstappen. A summary of both first and second practice.

- Saturday, qualification will be shown live.

- Sunday, the sprint race and main race will be shown live, I believe last season only the main race.

I couldn't imagine that they won't broadcast the rest of the season. Perhaps not always live. But they will show it, I'm sure of that.
I won't watch race 1 as I'm there all weekend long :D

Looks like John Martin likes this car better than the old one, promising start to the new season.

The car is an astronomical improvement over the previous one. I'll concede that it isn't as unique, but unique doesn't always equal better.

That looks incredible. Reminds me of an early 2000's F1 car, with the older, wider design of the mid-90's.

Yeah they are magic looking things. My mentor said he would give me a call as soon as he finishes testing it for the first time soon, he's as excited about it as the rest of us.

Can't wait for this season.

I just hope the new car doesnt spoil the racing... This years GP2 wasn't as exciting as the previous years due to their new car, so would be a shame if this series had the same issue

All have same cars, aero package has (apparently) no adverse effects on following vehicles and is supposed to be like the old car in that regard.

Can't really see how the racing will suffer, not unless they have vastly decreased braking distances or something.

Well they have Carbon Brakes now. They didn't use Carbon brakes in the old A1GP cars.

Then that would be brilliant but the reason why the old car was so brilliant was rather the design flaw of the chassis that it lacks so much mechanical grip, and it struggles to go faster than an F3 car despite having much more horsepower. But now the new car is even faster than SF cars despite having less horsepower, and SF proves to be quite mediocre at following each other, I do highly doubt how these designers would make those once F1 cars to magically be able to follow each other closely. Well, if that will be the case then I suppose those people at the FIA should seriously take a look at the work A1GP has done.

Well these cars are easier to drive, but that might also mean drivers have increased confidence to make a move and know they can still control the car.

Either way I think we will still be in for some great racing.

hopefully a FTA german channel will pick up the rights, although that's very unlikely.

Are the series that unpopular? Or are the rights just too expensive for Premiere?

I don't think they are expensive. Here in Latin America, SPEED Lat.Am. have the rights and they barely show ads from companys other than Fox Lat.Am., and is almost a basic cable channel here in Chile.

Well I don't know what they do in Chile, but I know in the UK, A1GP pays Sky Sports not to have advert breaks.

Bit of both, Premiere is currently saving as much money as they can. last week their CEO stepped down and Mark Williams took over, which ain't too bad actually, but things won't change until 2009.
Beside that, A1GP has almost zero media attention here in Germany, the last time I've seen an article was 2007 when Germany won the championship. The article was 3 sentences long...

DSF might take over, but I'd rather watch the stream than DSF.

Same case is México.

BTW: I am not looking forward to this season...México must be fighting for the World Cup but is just the pity of the championship. :x :x :x
