Back in the CART heyday of the early 90's they only had Phoenix, Indy, Milwaukee, Michigan, Nazareth and Loudon as ovals

That was due to a lack of suitable oval tracks for IndyCar. After the split, a wave of oval tracks began to be built.

Las Vegas (1996), Homestead (1996), Fontana (1997), Gateway (1997), Pikes Peak (1997), Texas (1997), Kentucky (2000), Kansas (2001), Chicagoland (2001), Nashville (2001), and Iowa (2007).

And they all are crap

Apart from Chicagoland, Gateway (IndyCar standpoint) and Iowa (stock car standpoint), I agree.

To be fair Homestead was actually pretty cool in its original configuration when it was a rectangle like Indy.

Yeah, too bad the crash angles sucked.

Can Indy car not even remember what ovals they've raced on?

You can see the first 3 in the row are Indy, Milwaukee (Note the Pit Lane), and Texas, but after that it looks like they just drew some oval like shapes... Iowa's wrong, NHMS is passable, and Kentucky's pretty far aout also..,..

They've got a race in Alabama, but I'd rather see them try Atlanta Motor Speedway again before going to Road Atlanta.

Vegas entry list is out. 34 entries, but only 33 drivers, driver for Conquest's #43 is still TBA.

Would be funny, but why eliminate half of the field already in the first lap?

It's not many races where you could say you could eliminate 12 or so cars in a first corner crash and still have a decent grid left for a good race! :p

How awesome would it be to have a 3-wide start and a 10-car pileup. Dario involved, please.

And Barnheart will make up a rule that all those involved in the crash can start the spare car, unless its black and white

I just wanna see a good race.

Even though I hated the current Dallara when it came out 8 years ago, I think now that it looks great with the speedway package. Sadly is it's last race and for the moment the new car looks hideous.
