3-wide start?

Would be funny, but why eliminate half of the field already in the first lap?

To be fair, the three-wide start at Michigan worked well. It's just one of those instances that it doesn't.

No, I have not. The Dallara grew on me during this years, which is something I can't say for the COT, the Daytona Prototypes, the new F1 cars or the short time we saw the CCWS Panoz or the last A1GP car, to point out some examples.

That ugly car never grew on me though, and it became particularly painful to see all of them stuck together in one whole group running weird racing lines without ability to complete a single pass on its own. Finally that show may come to an end, just hoping that new car would make a difference.

Will the other non regular drivers at Las Vegas (Tracy, Mann, ..) also win 5 million if they win the race like Dan Wheldon can? Or is it just 1 driver who get selected for this?

I LOL'd for the "challenging the worlds best drivers" bit. That is so wrong in so many levels!

Jon Beekhuis takes a closer look at the new car:

I know it's not the most popular opinion but I really hope this isn't her last race in an Indycar, simply because I would like to see her stick with the 500 every year. It seems to be the one track where she truly does have strong and consistent runs, and of course it just so happens to be a top tier prize in motorsports.

I think I read that she actually would like to keep doing the 500. The thing is: Would the contract allow her to dedicate for about 3 weeks to IndyCar, when they may want to have her available for a NNS championship run (I know, but still)?

She's strong on the ovals, anyway, so why not? But then there's contract restrictions, as Gabriel alluded to.

Weird thing about Danica is that she's slow in qualifying, but a very consistent racer. Didn't she had like 18 races without a DNF recently?

She does seem to quietly end up in reasonable finishing positions. There's no way on earth Danica deserved to finish ahead of Simona at Baltimore for example, but she usually ends up on a good strategy. (probably because she qualifies so poorly that the team can try different things)

Not a massive fan but will be sad to see her leave. Love her or hate her, she brings publicity and interest.

The way I look at is if she was Darren Patrick, and just another male driver, nobody would even notice her leaving. So I don't see what the fuss is about.

Well, obviously. But she has been a factor in many oval races. She won once, she has been competitive in ovals and specially in the 500, even leading laps a couple of times, and all that has been a first for female racing drivers in any big racing series in the world, so I understand the hype.

I think that if IndyCar stayed as a mainly oval racing series (like it was until a few years ago) and she was able to get a highly competitive ride (Ganassi or Penske), she would've been without a doubt a factor in the championship. She just struggles in road courses, as many other drivers. She once finished as the best non-TGR or Penske driver in the championship (2009 I think), which is saying something, considering the superiority those 2 teams have had over the rest in the last few seasons.
