There's no driver talent involved in this type of oval racing...

Ok, then you go do this at 215mph and see how well you do if there is no driver talent. You should do pretty good then....what an ignorant statement.

*rolls eyes*

It doesn't take a genius to work out that codename_47 is saying no talent within certain parameters. In top-level series racing terms, these drivers are of extremely low talent. Compared to the average guy in the street they are obviously good, but come on, are you seriously saying nobody should say John Wes Townley, Yuji Ide or Milka Duno are rubbish drivers simply because they are no better than them? That completely goes against what fans are like in every sport on the planet.

I think most people in the world are better than Ed Carpenter...

No, everyone is entitled to their opinion. It just totally rubs me the wrong way when I hear people say, "they have no talent" or "that driver shouldnt be driving a school bus". Its like seriously? Come on. It takes talent to drive anything.

Also, cool to see that Sarah ran up front last week.

He's actually got some pretty good oval results over the past few years, so I wouldn't say that he's all bad.

Applying this reasoning to anything else would work this way...

Paris Hilton is in movies, therefore she must be a talented actress.

Rod Blagojevich was the governor of Illinois therefore he must be a talented governor.

Should be fun watching TK's OnBoard early on as he's usually pretty aggressive when fighting through from the back.

Other than TK the other Onboards on Race control tonight are Carpenter, Power & Wheldon.

Ha, some of the last posts are funny.

Imo the majority of these IRL drivers have wayy more talent than any of the Nascar field, but there we go.

Race starts shortly.. cant wait!!

I tell ya if I had a dollar for every IRL driver that got a F1 ride I'd have my student loans paid off.

Interesting idea having Rick Mears give the call to start engines from the spotter's stand.

Must be nice to not have to take out any student loans.
